Art
I LOVE making art. I’ve done different kinds: furniture painting, jewelry-making, glass mosaics, sewing, drawing, and digital art. The digital art was an accident. I was losing my mind during the pandemic. Drawing usually helped in some of my worst moments, but I was stuck without my colored pencils. What to do? I started making art in Microsoft Word using my travel photos. That’s the art that makes up my second two books. Here are some of the illustrations from my books, as well as a few other illustrations:

Planted Love
A note on “Planted Love” and the collages.
Hearts are often painted red. To me, the heart is brown because it’s soil. We can plant fear, hatred, and cruelty. Or we can plant kindness, tenderness, and love. What’s one way we plant these things? With the words we say. All around the heart are lips. They come from this mural which I saw on a wall in Chiang Mai, Thailand:
And that’s how I made the travel collages! Selecting parts of travel photos, resizing them, recoloring them, and then layering the pieces one on top of another. Here’s one more example along with a few of the photos that went with it:
